MicroScan 600
MicroScan 600 is microcomputer based DSP Barkhausen Noise Analyzer designed to expand the limits of Barkhausen Noise technique for advanced research work. It provides a wide range of user definable measurement and analysis parameters, allowing the system to adjust to virtually any test condition. Applications Typical applications of a MicroScan system include: - correlating different microstructural parameters to Barkhausen Noise
- estimating gradients such as stress, plastic deformation, hardness, etc.
- developing new NDT applications
- evaluating stress and microstructure changes using several functions and parameters
- optimizing measurement conditions for the analysis
- switching freely between real-time (Rollscan) and off-line (MicroScan) modes
- general research work
MicroScan 600 signal analysis is based on digitizing and storing the analog signal derived from dedicated, patented sensors. All measurement parameters are set, commands given, results calculated and displayed through a computer. User definable frequency ranges make it possible to characterize near surface gradients such as stress, plastic deformation, hardness, etc. MicroScan 600 provides the following analysis of data with freely adjustable analyzing frequency interval: - Burst calculation
RMS (average, positive and negative) Peak value (average, positive and negative) Peak position (average, positive and negative) FWHM (average, positive and negative) - Ampiltude spectrum
- Integral of the bursts
- Pulse height distribution.
System configurationThe MicroScan 600 system uses Rollscan 300 to measure the Barkhausen signal. The system consists of the following components: - Computer with network interface
- Rollscan 300 with MicroScan option
- Rollscan 300 sensor
- MicroScan 600 software for data acquisition; controlling measurement, saving and loading data to/from files, calculating/displaying/printing the test results.
MicroScan 600 software MicroScan 600 software adds the following features to the Rollscan 300: - Filter frequency range 3-1000 kHz
- Adjustable magnetizing frequency range 6-1000 Hz
- Number of bursts adjustable 2-20
