Ring Stand

The ring stand is designed for handling bearing rings easily during the residual stress and retained austenite measurements with the XSTRESS 3000. The stand makes it easy to position the measurement point, either on the outer (OD) or inner (ID) surface of the ring, accurately under the collimator. The goniometer head is easy to adjust for measuring samples of different sizes making the stand very practicable. The minimum ID on which the measurements can be made with the system goniometer head is ca. 150 mm.

The stand consists of a frame with a cabinet, goniometer up and down movement, to which the goniometer head is attached, rotating X-Y unit and the control cabinet. The stand has a shelf for the XSTRESS 3000 central unit.

A complete XSTRESS 3000 ring testing system can consist of

• XSTRESS 3000 central unit
• Special goniometer G2 S 45/45 and standard tripod
• X3000 software
• X-ray ring stand including the control cabinet
• Table for electropolishing
• Electropolisher (Movipol)
• Depth measuring unit (with Mitutoyo dial indicator)
• System computer.
